Hosted by Shanghai Children’s Foundation and Shanghai Education Development Foundation and jointly organized by Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Changning District Education Foudation, the 2016 International Children’s Creative Art Exhibition aims to contribute to developing children’s awareness on scientific creativity and cross-disciplinary abilities.

Multi-nation, multi-culture
With the background of a global metropolis of Shanghai, the exhibition has attracted children’s art works from multiple provinces in China as well as from the US, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Singapore, Ukraine, Thailand etc. Over 150 works are selected, including forms of drawing, painting, calligraphy, installation, collage, tie-dye, sculpture, photography and multi-media. The young artists are different in age, background and culture, but all of them approach their lives with art and capture beauty with heart, thus enjoying the unprecedented happiness in art.

The exhibition has been actively participated by kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Shanghai and provinces including Fujian, Beijing, Anhui, Suzhou, and Sichuan; multiple international schools have also participated with their selected exhibits. The exhibit also includes the large-scale installation art “Cross-Field”, which includes forms of handicraft, comic, drawing and sewing, created by groups of students; drawing and photography works that has flew all the way from Hungary; Chinese painting performed by Austrian children; works by Japanese students selected among thousands of peers… The international exhibition is truly a multi-national, multi-cultural show.

The exhibition also includes activities including painting event with the theme “I Love Shanghai” as well as coloring Polish traditional clothing, creating a platform of exchange and friendship for children around the world.

Leading Art Education
Besides the exhibition of children’s art from around the world, the exhibition will also hold an international forum entitled “Art Education and Children’s Growth”, participated by famous artists, scholars and experts from international organizations and institutions. Through in-depth discussion on children’s art education and experience from different countries, the forum will contribute to the development of children’s art education with news ideas and suggestions.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition also includes a keynote lecture by famous painter Ms. Fu Yiyao, the daughter of Chinese painting master Mr. Fu Baoshi. The lecture will focus on the art education of Fu Baoshi and share the secrets behind the success of his children.

Colorful Events, Various Styles
In order to increase the awareness of a low-carbon, environmental-friendly lifestyle among children, the exhibition will also hold a special “Children’s Environmental-friendly Art Week”. The key event of the week, “Green Idea, Colorful Tradition – Children’s Environmental-Friendly Clothing Runway Show” will showcase children’s clothes made on their own using ancient tie-dye technique. The week also consists of several activities including art creation with recycled paper, traditional woodblock printing, and DIY art experience, combining education on environmental protection with art creation to create a new way of on-hand activities.

Focus on Summer Vacation
In order to encourage more children to enrich their summer vacation by joining art activities and scientific popularization, the organizing committee has invited multiple children-oriented media including Children’s Epoch, Haha Story, Children’s Daily, Eastern Youth, Mengdong Shanghai, Growing Family, and Art Tribe. The awarded works in the exhibition will be published in the above media as well.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition is hosted by Hua Shen Xian (Zhou Shengxi), famous children’s art TV personnel.

The exhibition will be held till September 18th (closed on Mondays).
