On August 16th, 2016, the 2016 International Children’s Creative Art Exhibition opened magnificently at Shanghai Art Collection Museum. With the theme “Creativity Creates Art”, the exhibition includes work from around China and about 20 countries including USA, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Singapore, Ukraine, Thailand, Ireland, etc.
Hosted by Shanghai Children’s Foundation and Shanghai Education Development Foundation, and jointly organized by Shanghai Art Collection Museum (Shanghai Popularization Base of Science and Technology, Shanghai Student Social Practice Base) and Changning District Education Foundation, the exhibition is a large-scale public cultural exchange event to enrich children’s summer life and increase international cultural exchange.
The opening ceremony was participated by over 200 guests. Guests from China include Ms. Yang Dinghua, President of Shanghai Children's Foundation; Mr. Wang Ronghua, President of Shanghai Education Development Foundation; Mr. Wang Weiren, Changning District Secretary of Party Committee; Ms. Xu Feng, President of Shanghai Women's Federation; Ms. Meng Yankun, Vice Chairperson of Shanghai Children’s Federation; Ms. Liu Yaqin, President of Shanghai Changning District Education Foundation; Ms. Li Xin, Deputy Secretary of CPC Changning District Committee; Ms. Wang, Haiyun, Vice Mayor of Changning District People's Government; Ms. Liu Qi, Vice President of Shanghai Women’s Federation; Mr. Zhao Guoqiang, Member of Party Group of Shanghai Committee of the Communist Youth League and Chief Counselor of Young Pioneers in Shanghai; Ms. Si Xiaolu, Deputy Director of Shanghai Airport Area Management Office; and Ms. Fu Yiyao, amous painter, daughter of Chinese painting legend Fu Baoshi. International guests include: Mr. Levente Horvath, Consul General of Hungary in Shanghai; Mr. Dmytro Ponomarenko, Consul General of Ukraine in Shanghai; Mr. Isidor Nikolic, Deputy Consul General of Austria in Shanghai; Mr. Jiri Benes, Deputy Consul General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai.

Representatives of guests, led by Ms. Yang Dinghua, President of Shanghai Children's Foundation and Wang Ronghua, President of Shanghai Education Development Foundation, joined the creative collage making with Chinese and international children representatives.
Leaders visit the exhibition after the opening ceremony, guided by Mr. Hu Muqing, president of Shanghai Art Collection Museum.
Children wearing clothing made with environmental-friendly materials and Chinese traditional tie-dye technique, promoting the idea of environmental protection.
Ms. Fu Yiyao, famous painter and daughter of Chinese painting master Fu Baoshi, shared her experience with family art education in the keynote lecture, which received warm ovation from the audience.
The exhibition’s unique creative display
The exhibition has been actively participated by kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Shanghai and provinces including Fujian, Beijing, Anhui, Suzhou, and Sichuan; multiple international schools have also participated with their selected exhibits. The exhibit also includes the large-scale installation art “Cross-Field”, which includes forms of handicraft, comic, drawing and sewing, created by groups of students; drawing and photography works that has flew all the way from Hungary; Chinese painting performed by Austrian children; works by Japanese students selected among thousands of peers… One of the special characteristic of this international exhibition is the display of culture from around the world.
The guests present at the opening ceremony also include: Mr. Hidetake Iwamoto, Consul of Culture of Japan in Shanghai; Mrs.Szentmartoni Livia Ilona, Consul of Culture and Education of Hungary in Shanghai; Mr. Tan Kee Chor, Consul of Singapore in Shanghai; Mrs. Anna Romsicka, Deputy Consul of Poland in Shanghai; Mrs. Monika Zapala, Educational and Cultural Affairs Officer at the Consulate General of Poland in Shanghai; as well as representatives from Shanghai Women’s Federation, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV, Shanghai Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai Young Pioneers Working Committee, China Welfare Institute Publishing House, Changning District Civilization Office, Changning District Foreign Affairs Office, Changning District Bureau of Culture, Changning District Bureau of Education, Changning District Women’s Federation, Shanghai Children’s Foundation Changning Bureau, Tianshan No.1 Primary School, Dingding Art, and other organizations.
The exhibition will also include various special activities.
The exhibition is open to the public for free till September 18th.
