Shanghai Art Collection Museum - Takashimaya Art Space successfully opened on February 25 at the 5th floor of Shanghai Takashimaya Department Store. The 1st exhibition “Wares Refined - the Beauty of Chinese and Japanese Ceramic Art” has attracted wide attention from many viewers.

The opening ceremony was joined by over one hundred guests from many countries, including Wang Ronghua - Vice Chairman of the 10th Shanghai People’s Political Consultative Committee, Bian Baiping - Chief Supervisor of SAIC Group, Xu Ping - Vice Director of General Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Hu Chengyun - Deputy Inspector of General Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Liu Ping - Vice Governor of Changning District, Jiang Yunqiang - General Manager of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Company, Zhang Liancheng - former Vice Governor of Changning DIstrict, Cao Jiaming - President of the Architectural Society Of Shanghai China, Sun Fuliang - Senior Vice Chairman of Shanghai Creative Industry Association, Zhu Gang - Curator of Liu Haisu Art Museum, Mr. And Mrs. Dmytro Ponomarenko - Consul General of Ukraine in Shanghai, Tomoko Takaoka - Cultural Consul of Japan in Shanghai, Livia Szentmartoni - Consul of Culture of Hungary in Shanghai, etc., as well as multiple media.

Representing the field of art, Mr. Zhu Gang, curator of Liu Haisu Art Museum, expressed warm congratulations for the opening of the Art Space and high praise for its purpose of bringing art closer to people’s lives through cooperation with business partners.
Representing the cooperating partners, Hu Muqing, President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Tomoaki Komori, Managing Director of Shanghai Takashimaya signed a five-year cooperation agreement.
Wang Ronghua, Vice Chairman of 10th Shanghai People’s Political Consultative Committee, sincerely congratulated the opening of the Art Space and its exhibition, highly praised the work by Shanghai Art Collection Museum in enhancing culture-business cooperation and Chinese-Japanese cultural exchanges. He expressed his hope that the Art Space provides a platform for exchange, cooperation and mutual benefit.
After the opening ceremony, the leaders and guests visited the ceramic art exhibition with the accompany of Mr. Hu Muqing, highly impressed by the beauty of the exhibits and the creative display.
The Art Space also invited Mr. Chen Hailong, Chinese Art and Craft Master, and Mr. Hu Muqing for a exchange seminar on artistic collection of Chinese and Japanese art, sharing their experiences on Chinese and Japanese artwork.
Shanghai Art Collection Museum - Takashimaya Art Space is the 1st art gallery jointly established by non-profit museum and business corporation, as well as Takashimaya’s 1st art gallery cooperating with an outside party. As a creative attempt for cooperation between culture and business fields, it has been highly anticipated.
The ceramic art exhibition will last till April 16.
