Date:2017-08-04Opening ceremony of the 2nd International Children’s Exhibition

 

In the morning of 30. Jul, the 2nd International Children’s Creative Art Exhibition with the theme of “Under the same starry sky”, which gathers more than 200 pieces of children’s art works from nearly 20 countries including China, U.S.A, Germany, Belgium, Canada, Britain, Indonesia, Australia, Austria, Hungary, Singapore, Ukraine, New Zealand, etc., has opened in Shanghai Art Collection Museum. 

The 2nd International Children's Creative Art Exhibition, which is hosted by Shanghai Children’s Foundation and Shanghai Education Development Foundation, jointly organized by Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Shanghai Changning District Education Foundation, is a large public activity. Showing the achievements of the artistic exchange, it aims to strengthen the exchange and integration of different national cultures, and to encourage children to actively participate in the communication of international art and culture.

Ms. Dinghua Yang, Deputy Director of the 13th Shanghai Municipal People 's Congress Standing Committee, President of Shanghai Children’s Foundation; Mr. Ronghua Wang, Vice Chairman of the 10th CPPCC Shanghai Committee, President of Shanghai Education Development Foundation; Ms. Feng Xu, Chairman of Shanghai Women’s Federation; Ms. Luning Wang, Vice President of Shanghai Children’s Foundation; Ms. Yaqin Liu, former Director of Shanghai Changning District People 's Congress Standing Committee; Mr. Guangyong Liu, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government; Ms. Yujing Xia, Member of the CPC Changning District Standing Committee, Minister of Publicity Department; Mr. Yupeng Liu, President of Changning District Education Development Foundation, former Member of the CPC Changning District Standing Committee; Mr. Dmytro Ponomarenko, Consul General of Ukraine in Shanghai; Ms. Kui Yu, granddaughter of Mr. Sicheng Liang and Ms. Huiyin Lin, famous humanist, and other over 150 guests have attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

 

All seats were occupied at the opening ceremony.

Mr. Joshua Bobley, Exchange Scholar of Chinese and American cultures , double master’s degree of Yale University and Columbia University, hosted the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The opening ceremony started with children’s Latin dance, Xinjiang folk dance and Erhu performance.

Mr. Muqing Hu,President of the organizer, Shanghai Art Collection Museum, introduced the leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony.

Mr. Ronghua Wang, Vice Chairman of 10th CPPCC Shanghai Committee and President of Shanghai Education Development Foundation delivered a speech.

Ms. Feng Xu, Chairman of Shanghai Women’ s Federation, Vice President of Shanghai Children’s Foundation, delivered a speech.

Mr. Dmytro Ponomarenko, Representative of consulates general in Shanghai, Consul General of Ukraine in Shanghai, delivered a speech.

 Chinese and foreign children exchanged art gifts and took a group photo with other guests.

 

Chinese major leaders, representative of consulates general in Shanghai and children created a collage of starry sky together. 

 

Ms. Dinghua Yang, President of Shanghai Children’s Foundation and Mr. Ronghua Wang, President of Shanghai Education Development Foundation, signed on the starry sky board.

Ms. Feng Xu, Chairman of Shanghai Women’s Federation, declared the commencement of the exhibition.

 

The audiences visited the exhibition after the opening ceremony.

 

The organizing committee has specially invited Ms. Kui Yu, granddaughter of Mr. Sicheng Liang and Ms. Huiyin Lin, famous humanist, to give the audiences a lecture with the theme of “Interest is the best source of art education” as a coordinated program of the exhibition, to share with the guests and parents the significance of interesting teaching methods. This vivid and witty lecture has been warmly welcomed by the audiences.

During the one-month exhibition period, the organizing committee has also arranged lots of colorful special events.

The exhibition will last until 30. Aug. free to the public. (The museum is closed on Mondays and holidays.)
