Date：2020-02-26[Good News] SACM's Monograph Exported to Ivy League School

As a monograph commemorating the 95th anniversary of the entrance in the university of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin, famous Chinese architectural artists, Selected Images and Manuscripts of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin (Chinese-English Bilingual Edition) has selected carefully 400 precious images, 21 manuscripts and some paintings of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin to be published. These precious images represent the details of life of Liang and Lin, and also the scenes that they shuttled through the wilderness of war, mapped thousands of buildings on the spot. All the images show vividly the patriotic responsibility and admirable character of that generation of elites.

Our own team finished the content selection and binding design of the whole book. We also invited Chinese and foreign experts to review the translation, ensuring the excellent quality of the book.

After the publication of the new book, it has been widely welcomed by all walks of life and selected as "Excellent Book of Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House 2019 ".

After attending the "Art Archives Exhibition of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin & Seminar on ‘Excellent City and Cultural Environment Construction’", Frederick Steiner, Dean of University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, and William Whitaker, Curator of the Architectural Archives, both found that it is a book with detailed content, strong readability and great collection value. They applied for a special fund from the university to order a batch of books as collection of the university library.

Shanghai Art Collection Museum, as one of the institutions with the most abundant collection of Liang, Lin and their families' relevant documents, has been actively engaged in the research on them for many years. In 2010, 2014 and 2019, Shanghai Art Collection Museum successively held "April day - Liang Sicheng Lin Huiyin Collection Art Exhibition", "The 110th Anniversary Exhibition of Lin Huiyin" and "Origin - Art Archives Exhibition of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin" . These events had extensive social influence at home and abroad. Including the images of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin, the museum collected thousands of works from all over the world.

Origin - Art Archives Exhibition of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin (2019)

Mr. Hu MuQing, President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum, has long been committed to the collection and research of Liang and Lin's documents. In 2014, he edited the Chinese version of Selected Images and Manuscripts of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin. The new edition of Selected Images and Manuscripts of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin (Chinese-English Bilingual Edition) is specially translated and revised at the request of foreign academic institutions. The publication of the book has been greatly supported by Liang and Lin's family members, Tsinghua University Archives and its School of Architecture, University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the archives of the university, etc.

In recent years, Mr. Hu MuQing, President of the museum, has been invited to hold several special speeches about Liang and Lin for alumni of the University of Pennsylvania and on "Shanghai Boya Forum" organized by Shanghai book company.

The leaders of University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the Archives of the University said, in the next step, the university will further strengthen the academic research on Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin, in collaboration with Shanghai Art Collection Museum, Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University and other relevant  institutions, so as to produce new achievements by Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin international research alliance.
