President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum Mr.Muqing Hu and Consul General of Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai Ms. Ivana Vala Magatova Signed The Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation
On the afternoon of April 4th, there were melodious tweedle and cheerful voices lingering in Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai. At 2:18 p.m. a special signing ceremony-the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai, was held successfully.
Mr. Muqing Hu, President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Ms. Ivana Vala Magatova, Consul General of Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai, signed on the memorandum as representatives of the two parties.

According to the memorandum, Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai will establish strategic relationship, based on mutual development and long-term cooperation.
Shanghai Art Collection Museum will actively provide Slovakian artists, professional organizations of cultural tourism, teenager representatives and administrative authorities with various exchange platforms of culture, art and science through a series of annual brand events with international influence, including the International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts, the International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum, the International (Shanghai) Cultural Tourism Program Promotion Conference, the International Children’s Creative Art Exhibition, the International Children’s Art & Science Exhibition, etc. Shanghai Art Collection Museum will hold the International Tour Exhibition of Chinese Traditional Fine Arts in Bratislava, the capital of Slovak Republic when conditions are ripe.
Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai shall actively organize representatives to attend the mentioned activities. At the same time, the consulate general shall also invite the delegation of Shanghai Art Collection Museum to investigate the cultural tourism resources of Slovak Republic and also provide strong support in assisting the museum’s coordination with governmental organizations, art resources, etc. Moreover, the consulate general shall create conditions for the brand event of the museum-the International Tour Exhibition of Chinese Traditional Fine Arts, to be held successfully in Bratislava.
Slovak Republic locates in the hinterland of Central Europe and is a significant country along the “Belt and Road”. Bratislava, the capital, has established sistership with Shanghai since 2003.
Shanghai Art Collection Museum has long been devoted to international cultural communication. Now the museum has established friendly cooperation relationship with professional organizations from over 30 countries worldwide.
Slovak Republic has already established close cooperation relationship with our museum since several years ago. A delegation of the museum was invited to visit the Slovakia Center of Traditional Folk Culture and the Slovakian National Folk Dance Group in 2016 and the both sides kept a close contact from then on. Ms. Dana Klucarova, General Director of Slovakia Center For Folk Art Production participated in the 5th International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum in 2017. This year, Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai shall still organize artworks from distinguished Slovak artists or designers to attend the 9th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts held in the coming June in Shanghai and also send representatives to attend the 7th International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum and the 5th International (Shanghai) Cultural Tourism Program Promotion Conference. Moreover, the consulate general shall actively organize different representatives to attend other activities held by the museum.

On the signing ceremony, Ms. Ivana Vala Magatova, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai indicated that the consulate general valued the long-term cooperation with Shanghai Art Collection Museum. This year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Slovak Republic and also the 16th anniversary of the establishment of sistership between Shanghai and Bratislava, which gives the signing of the MOU special significance.
President of the museum-Mr. Muqing Hu said that the ‘Belt and Road’ enables people from different countries to understand each other. To promote this initiative, we can start with various cultural exchanges. We advocate action rather than talk. We hope that the signing today is an opportunity to further promote the all-round cooperation between Shanghai Art Collection Museum and professional organizations from Slovak Republic.

According to memorandum, the two parties also made a two-year action plan on cultural exchanges.
