Artist: Xiahou Wen (China, 1935)

Born in Fenyi, Jiangxi Province, Xiahou Wen is a renowned Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts and recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance. A graduate of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, he has devoted more than four decades to porcelain art.

His works—recognized with over thirty national and international awards—are held in prestigious collections including the National Museum of China and Ziguang Pavilion in Zhongnanhai. Xiahou has also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Chinese Arts and Crafts and was named an Outstanding Folk Artist by UNESCO.

This delicately carved conical bowl reflects his mastery of traditional celadon techniques and his distinctive approach to refined ceramic artistry.
