Int’l Children’s Creative Art Exhibition Bali Station Opened

The Tour Exhibition of International Children's Creative Art Exhibition in Bali, which is jointly hosted by Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Museum Pasifika, opened on August 2, 2023. It is strongly supported by Shanghai Education Development Foundation, Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government (Asia Pacific Division), Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Denpasar, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in Indonesia, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Shanghai, ISI Yogyakarta and many other organizations.
It was the second time for International Children's Creative Art Exhibition to hold a tour exhibition out of China after the Tour Exhibition in 2019 in Isfahan, Iran. The award ceremony of the 8th International Children's Creative Art Exhibition was also held.

Indonesia is one of the sponsor nations of 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, characterized as an essential role in the construction of the Belt and Road. China and Indonesia both embrace long-term history and gorgeous culture, deepening the bilateral communication and collaboration in various fields. In April 2023, the delegation of Shanghai Art Collection Museum was invited by the Indonesian government to visit Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali and other places in Indonesia, and established close and friendly cooperation with many organizations, including Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, ISI Yogyakarta, etc., and signed the MoU with Museum Pasifika.
To further promote the art exchange between Chinese children and children around the world, especially Indonesian ones, the sponsor particularly selected Museum Pasifika which is famous for its diversity of arts collection to hold the Tour Exhibition, aiming to build a friendship bridge between children of two countries.
The Tour Exhibition selected over 60 works of children from more than 10 countries, in which Indonesian children were invited to make thematic creation.

Established in 2006, Museum Pasifika covers an area of 12,500 square meters and contains 11 exhibition halls with works of art from more than 90 countries and regions, making it one of the most comprehensive and authoritative museums that collects local art from the Pacific region and Indonesia. It is recognized as one of the best museum attractions in Indonesia. In addition, it is highly recommended by Indonesian government as a place for children's art education.

The International Children's Creative Art Exhibition is strongly supported by Shanghai Education Development Foundation and Shanghai Children's Foundation. Mr. Wang Ronghua, Vice Chairman of the 10th Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Chairman of Shanghai Education Development Foundation, wrote a congratulatory letter for the Tour Exhibition in Bali, congratulating the successful opening of the exhibition and wishing a new chapter of cultural and artistic exchanges between young people from China and Indonesia.

Under the support of the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality, the Indonesian audiences was invited to watch the video of Shanghai, knowing Shanghai Spirit, namely openness, excellence, wisdom, and humility, and understanding the perfect fusion of modern and classic, humanity and technology, art and culture in Shanghai.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Hu Muqing, President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum, firstly delivered a welcoming speech. He pointed that the International Children's Creative Art Exhibition has been successfully held for eight sessions, aiming to establish an international platform for cultural exchanges among children around the world. Until now, more than 1,200 young artists from more than 60 countries have participated in the exhibition. The Tour Exhibition would strengthen the art exchange between children in China and Indonesia, and lay a good foundation for enhancing cooperation in culture and art with Indonesia.
Mr. Philippe Augier, the Founder of Museum Pasifika Bali, hoped that the exhibition would positively impact our community, fostering cultural appreciation and unity. He said that young artists' creativity knew no bounds, and their art spoke to the core of our shared humanity.
Mr. Zhu Xinglong, Consul General of China in Denpasar, expressed warm congratulations on the opening event of the Tour Exhibition. He mentioned that the art exchange between China and Bali was longstanding. The Tour Exhibition proved the diversity of world civilization and promoted the humanity exchange and mutual art learning between Chinese and Indonesian people. He also expected people from two countries could step into a new stage.
Mr. Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy Chairman for Digital Economy and Creative Product at Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy highly praised the hosts for persistantly cultivating artistic expressive force of teenagers. He said that culture was powerful to such an extent that it could surpass the nation and diversity. Meanwhile, children regarded culture as a medium to embrace their dreams and hope. As a result, we should establish an environment where they can enjoy art.
Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, General Chairman of the Indonesian Art Association and Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, said that the Tour Exhibition showed the pure inner world of teenagers, filling the world with happiness and peace. He hoped that those who have watched the exhibition could reap profound enlightenment.

At the opening event, Mr. Muhammad Neil El Himam, Mr. Zhu Xinglong, Prof. Dr. Timbul Raharjo, Mr. Hu Muqing, and Mr. Philippe Augier presented the awards to the representatives of the award-winning children: Jin Ren Ayu, Zeng Siqi, Zhu Xingtong and Ke Chenlin.
“Little Cultural Exchange Envoy" Award Ceremony
An award named “Little Cultural Exchange Envoy" was set up, which aimed to encourage those children of China and Indonesia who made efforts for international cultural exchanges. Mr. Raden Wisnu Sidhutrisno, Mr. Adila, as well as Ms. Li Shuiqing, Executive Curator of Shanghai Art Collection Museum, Ms. Susanne Erhards, Conservator of Museum Pasikifa, Dr. Yulriawan Dafri, Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs of ISI Yogyakarta presented the certificates to children.

To further strengthen the cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries, Shanghai Art Collection Museum donated all the children's artworks to Museum Pasifika, which set up a special "World Children's Art Wall" to display these works. Moreover, Shanghai Art Collection Museum donated two pieces of Chinese artists' works to Museum Pasifika as collection. They are "In the world of robots, we are all primitive", a work donated by Mr. Jin Wenyi, a famous Chinese painter and Vice Curator of Shanghai Liu Haisu Art Museum, and a piece of Jian Ware donated by Mr. Liao Chengyi, a master of arts and crafts in Fujian.
