Opening Ceremony of Intl Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts

On the morning of June 6th, 2024, the opening ceremony of the 14th International Exhibition of Fine Arts was held successfully at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The exhibition is organised by the Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Shanghai Art & Design Academy and has received cordial support from the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai), Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipality, and Shanghai Changning District People's Government.

"The International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts", which has been held for 14 successive years, has become a brand exhibition of international influence. The exhibition has been included in the program of building the brand of “Shanghai Culture” and in the major projects of “The Revitalization Plan of Shanghai Traditional Arts and Crafts”; it is also a key project of cultural exchange of the Shanghai Municipal Government to promote the "Belt and Road" Friendship City construction. This exhibition is a significant platform for international cultural communication in Shanghai.

Themed by "Crafting for Innovation", the 14th International Exhibition of Fine Arts is the largest ever, hosting more than 180 artworks, many of which are works of National Treasures, from 31 countries, including China, Japan, the U.S.A, Germany, France, Indonesia, South Korea, Denmark, Czech Republic, Norway, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Columbia, Armenia, Moldova,etc.The artworks show the colourful traditional arts and cultures of different countries and regions, and combine the modern concepts and innovative methods of traditional arts, highlighting the mutual integration and promotion of tradition and modernity, and the vitality and vigour of culture.
Many other representatives from govermental and diplomatic departments , directors of related institutes, and artists of China, Iran, Czech Republic, Columbia, Indonesia, Armenia, United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Japan, etc. also participated in the ceremony.
After the opening ceremony of the 14th International Exhibition of Fine Arts, the 12th International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum was held.
