This year is the key year for the Chinese government to achieve the goals of the "14th Five-Year Plan", so it is of special significance to hold this forum on the occasion of the National Natural and Cultural Heritage Day. Up to now, Shanghai has 63 national intangible cultural heritages, 273 municipal ones and 800 district ones; 120 national representative inheritors and 794 municipal and thousands of district-level inheritors. Among them, there are 19 intangible cultural heritage programs listed in the national catalogue of traditional craft revitalisation, and 4 relevant institutions regarded as national productive protection demonstration bases of intangible cultural heritage. These colourful wisdom and legacies have been passed down through generations, and have come to life in the new era, becoming an important connotation and resource for enhancing Shanghai's urban soft power.
The 14th International Traditional Fine Arts Exhibition, which is complementary to the forum, will be held during the forum.
