SACM President Invited to Luncheon for Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies

On the afternoon of July 21, Hu Muqing, President of Shanghai Art Collection Museum, was invited to attend a luncheon reception for H.E. Mr. Tomio Okamura, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, at during his visit to Shanghai.
Mr. Hu Muqing presented H.E. Mr. Tomio Okamura with a work by Song Hua, a renowned Chinese gongbi painting artist.
H.E. Mr. Tomio Okamura presented Mr. Hu with a silver commemorative medal of the Czech Chamber of Deputies and related publications.
During the luncheon, Mr. Hu Muqing introduced to H.E. Mr. Tomio Okamura the cultural and artistic exchange and cooperation between Shanghai Art Collection Museum and Czech institutions in recent years. He introduced that Shanghai Art Collection Museum has maintained close and productive cooperation with Czech cultural and museum institutions for many years. Since 2017, the Czech Ministry of Culture has appointed several representatives to participate in the International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum. Meanwhile, more than ten Czech artists have participated in the International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts, which has been successfully held for sixteen editions. In addition, delegations from Shanghai Art Collection Museum have visited the Czech Republic several times at invitation, conducting extensive exchanges and close cooperation with local cultural institutions, the Czech-China Friendship Association, and related cultural organizations. These efforts have continuously contributed to deeper cultural exchanges between the two countries. During the luncheon, President Hu was also entrusted by the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) to introduce the cultural exchange section of the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), as well as the current development of Shanghai's cultural tourism industry. He expressed the hope that, with the support of Mr. Okamura, cooperation between the two sides in cultural and tourism resources could be further strengthened.H.E. Mr. Tomio Okamura spoke highly of the long-standing efforts made by Shanghai Art Collection Museum in promoting China-Czech exchanges. He stated that cultural exchange serves as an important bridge for enhancing mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, and expressed hope that Shanghai Art Collection Museum would continue to leverage its professional strengths as a cultural institution and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Czech Ministry of Culture, museums, and related cultural organizations. During the luncheon, members of the Czech delegation also introduced the Czech Republic’s achievements and practices in cultural heritage protection, artistic development, and tourism promotion.The Czech guests attending the luncheon included H. E. Mr. Martin TOMCO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the People's Republic of China; Ms. Renata VESECKÁ, Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. Member of the Interparliamentary Group of Friends of the Czech Republic and China, Chair of the Constitutional and Legal Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic; Mr, Jiří BRODSKÝ, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic; Mr. Jindřich KUBOVSKÝ, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, People's Republic of China; Mr. Ota LEDVINKA, Foreign Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic; Mr. Petr HNÍZDO, Director, Department of International Relations and EU, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic; Ms. Lenka ČEJKOVÁ, Spokesperson for the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, and Lukas Pokorny, Director of Czech Tourist Authority - Czech Tourism China & South East Asia, as well as relevant officials from the Protocol Department of the Chamber of Deputies and the Embassy Secretariat.
Chinese representatives attending the luncheon included Mr. Yan Xiaoming, Member of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of China, former Deputy Director of China Media Group, and former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People's Daily among others.
In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, both sides also exchanged views on other topics.
